Attractive hand-coloured copperplate engraving by Jacques Peeters from his 1692 book "L'Atlas en abregé, ou Nouvelle description du monde."

The map features the Indonesian archipelago, the Philippines, and an insert of Japan. These were the primary places of interest in the Indies and all major cities/ports are marked on the map.

This map is in good condition, only showing slight tanning on the paper. Beautifully hand-coloured by the mapmaker. Paper shows the pressmarks from the copperplate, a sure sign of authenticity.
