Original black-and-white antique map of the Indies with an inset of the northern Moluccas.
This map by Rigobert Bonne (1727-1794) of the French Hydrographic Society features an accurate picture of the islands with helpful features such as the direction of winds during certain times of the year and an inset of Ternate and Tidore.
Considered one of the foremost cartographers of the 18th century, Bonne's maps were highly sought-after by sailors for their detail and accuracy in the same way his immediate predecessor Jacques Nicolas Bellin's were.
