Located on the Eastern end of Java, Surabaya was once even larger than Batavia in terms of population and commercial importance. The city was also known for its greenery and today still boasts parks the likes of which cannot be found in Jakarta.

This photograph has tears along the bottom but is otherwise in good condition.
